Michael T. McNelis graduated summa cum laude from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis (J.D., 1988), and received his undergraduate education from Illinois State University (B.A., 1985). He served as a law clerk to now retired Chief Justice Dickson of the Indiana Supreme Court during his third year of law school. He is admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the Southern District and Northern District of Indiana Federal District Courts.
Michael practices in the areas of real estate law, mergers and acquisitions, secured transactions, business law, corporate law, estate planning, and commercial litigation. His publications include “Prepayment Penalties and Due-On-Sale clauses in Commercial Mortgages: What Next?” Indiana Law Review 735, 1987.
He is a member of the Indianapolis, Indiana State, and American Bar Associations. He has been rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell for some years. This is given to attorneys who are ranked at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal expertise, communication skills, and ethical standards by their peers.
